A study has been made of clinically treated cases of overbreathing syndrome in 13 children. The literature has been reviewed. The clinical symptomatology of the different types of this syndrome has been analysed. The criteria of diagnosis and differential diagnosis have been discussed. The complexity of treatment is pointed out.
