โœฆ Synopsis

The eight-page quarto pamphlet Questions About the Breeding of Animals (see Appendix to this essay) is a rare and, until recently, unpublished work of Charles Darwin. 1 Only a single copy, that in the Library of the British Museum (Natural History), was known until recently, when a copy was located in a collection of documents at the University Library, Cambridge, England.

Freeman of University College, London, for first providing me with a copy of the Questions--as well as a good deal of relevant information-without which this paper would not be possible.
