## Abstract In __para__‐Stellung substituierte aromatische 1.3‐ und 1.5‐Diketone wurden durch Behandlung mit Hydrazinhydrat in 3.5‐Diaryl‐pyrazole und 3.7‐Diaryl‐4.5‐dihydro‐1.2‐diazepine übergeführt.
In the title compound, C 17 H 12 Cl 2 N 2 O 2 , the dihedral angle formed between the dichlorobenzene and pyrazolyl rings is 38.3 (3) , that between the phenyl and pyrazolyl rings is 46.8 (3) , and that between the two benzene rings is 69.4 (3) .
The title compound, C 18 H 18 N 2 O, was prepared by the reaction of 3-phenyl-1-(p-tolyl)prop-2-en-1-one with hydrazine hydrate in acetic acid. The pyrazole ring is in an envelope conformation. The crystal packing is stabilized by van der Waals forces.
