Single crystals of Tl 2 PdCl 4 can be obtained by hydrothermal synthesis [1,2]. They show tetragonal symmetry with space group P4/mmm (No. 123). The lattice parameters are a = 7.163(1) A Ê and c = 4.282 (1) A Ê . The atomic arrangement of Tl 2 PdCl 4 is explored by X-ray crystal structure analysis.

The reaction of Se 4 [MoOCl 4 ] and Te 4 [MoOCl 4 ] with SOCl 2 as solvent at 150 °C and 80 °C yields [SeCl 3 ][MoOCl 4 ] and [TeCl 3 ][MoOCl 4 ] respectively within 3 to 6 days as yellow-brown, moisture-sensitive crystals. [TeCl 3 ][MoOCl 4 ] was obtained in the already known monoclinic form, while

Bi 2 ErO 4 I was prepared by solid-state reaction of stoichiometric mixture of BiOI, Bi 2 O 3 and Er 2 O 3 . Bi 2 ErO 4 I is a new compound and the first bismuth rare earth oxide iodide. The crystal structure was determined by the Rietveldmethod (P4/mmm, a = 3,8896(6) A Ê , c = 9,554(2) A Ê , Z = 1)
