"Nicole Tang Noonan, an art historian from San Francisco, proves herself when she curates the first exhibition for the new gallery at the small college in rural Ohio where she teaches. When a visitor to the exhibition is murdered the day after the opening reception, the artists becomes the prime suspect, but Nicole doesn't believe it. She identtifies likely suspects and investigates. Nicole becomes convinced that the motive for the murder is encoded in the paintings on display.
