Recent progress in the experimental study of charm meson hadronic decays and lifetimes is reviewed. New high-precision branching fractions and amplitude analyses improve noticeably upon previous world averages.

โฆ Synopsis
Presented are preliminary results from the BABAR Collaboration on charm physics, including limits on D 0 mixing from the ratio of lifetimes from K -ฯ + , K + K -, and ฯ + ฯ -final states (using 47.8 fb -1 of data) and branching ratio, and Dalitz amplitude analyses of the decays D 0 โ K 0 K -ฯ + , K 0 K + ฯ -, and K 0 K + K -(using 22 fb -1 of data). The status of direct measurements of D 0 mixing using wrong-sign D 0 โ K + ฯ -decays is also discussed.

The LEP1 data sample (4 million hadronic Z decays) recorded by the ALEPH detector is analysed to study charmed particle decays. The measurements of the hadronic branching ratios D O -+ K-~r+, and of the purely leptonic decays D~ --\* ~-u and Ds --+ #u are presented. The L=I charmed mesons D\*\* and
