Cytochrome P‐450 Model Reactions, 2. — Isolation and Characterization of a Manganese(IV)‐Pentafluoroiodosylbenzene‐Porphinato Complex as a Model of the Active Species of the Catalytic Cycle of Cytochrome P‐450
The isolation at −78^°^C and characterization of the crystalline reactive manganese(IV)‐porphinato complex Mn(TDCPP)‐(C~6~F~5~IOCl)Cl (4) is described. 4 is compared with the manganese(IV)‐porphinato complexes Mn(TDCPP)(C~6~H~5~IOCl)~2~ (2) and Mn(TDCPP)(OCH~3~)~2~ (3). The stoichiometric reaction of 4 with triphenylphosphane yields 1.5 equivalents of triphenylphosphane oxide, 1.0 equivalents of Mn(TDCPP)Cl (1), and 1.0 equivalents of pentafluoro‐iodobenzene. 4 epoxidizes stilbene, oxygenates cyclohexane, and oxidizes anthracene to anthraquinone.
