โฆ Synopsis
Cyclotron resonance linewidths due to scattering by acoustic phonons via deformation potential and piezoelectric interaction have been calculated for a two-dimensional electron gas formed in heterojunctions. The finite extent of the wave function along the direction of quantisation and screening due to free carriers are considered. The calculated linewidth for scattering due to deformation potential acoustic phonons show a B t'2 variation with magnetic field. The field dependence of the linewidth due to piezoelectric phonon scattering is ho,',ever weaker.
