Since the introduction of cyclic voltammetry (CV) by Knorr and Will in the 1950s, this electrochemical method has developed in many directions. The kinetic equations which were known previously were worked out more fully in the 1960s, and more recently computer simulation and evaluation of the cyclovoltammograms has become increasingly widespnsad. Thus CV is a well established electrochemical method, with a "popularity" approaching that of spectroscopy.
