The @-unsaturated ketone (4,4-dimethyl-2-ethyl-1 [4H]naphthalenon-6-y1)oxyacetic acid (III), a cyclic analog of ethacrynic acid, has been prepared, and its diuretic activity on oral administration to rats and dogs has been evaluated. No significant activity was observed.
