✦ Synopsis

The overall problem of a shallow shell taking into account the effect of transverse shear deformations is investigated by use of the expressions in the context of Muskhelishvili's complex potential by making conformal mapping. The values of bending stresses and displacements in loading of transverse shear around a hole in the shallow shell are shown in the Tables. The complex potentials for the dislocation of rotation and displacement along the curvilinear cracks are considered and variation of moment and stress intensity factors at the crack tips in the shallow shell are also illustrated.
