Background: Crohn's exacerbation and pouchitis are commonly treated with ciprofloxacin and metronidazole. Few studies have shown an advantage of this regimen compared with other antibiotics. Most attributed the effect to its better antibacterial coverage. Others have shown an apparent anti-inflammat
