In recent years electrophoresis has become one of the most widely used analytical techniques to separate new peptides, proteins, and nucleic acids. Isotachophoresis is an electrophoretic technique based on the general concept of migration of charged particles in an electrical field; however, the important feature of isotachophoresis is the presence of sharp boundaries between the separated zones of individual components of the sample.
