✦ Synopsis

C urbside Consultation in IBD is an outstanding addition to the current literature on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This book, edited by three experts in the field, addresses 49 important clinical questions in IBD, answered by one of 50 or so authors/coauthors. The questions are all relevant, and some are uniquely posed and addressed with information not available in your leading gastroenterology or IBD texts, or journals. The questions in this book are some of the most difficult and challenging ones for the IBD specialist, let alone a practicing gastroenterologist who is not dealing with these issues on a regular basis. These are questions that would arise in the clinic or hospital and one might ponder: What is the right answer?

For many of these clinical questions there is no single ''right'' answer, but the chapter addresses considerations which should be entertained in formulating a choice or decision on the topic. Many of these clinical questions could be presented in a ''Point-Counterpoint'' dialogue and would also be suitable for debate, as the questions themselves do not have an easy answer, although the answers provided in Curbside Consultation are generally succinct and accurate. Some examples follow:
