✦ Synopsis

The development of the ergonomics information analysis system for vision impaired workers. In: B. Das (Ed), Advances in industrial ergonomics and safety -II, Taylor & Francis, London, 1990, pp 79-85, 0 refs. Outlined is a research report for the development of a system which encompasses a variety of functions which are essential to the successful placement of visually impaired workers. These functions include an Ergonomics Information Analysis System for Vision Impaired Workers (EIAS-VIW) to store, retrieve and organise workers' performance data, and a Disability Index (DI) to measure vision impaired workers' residual capabilities in performing an industrial assembly task. EIAS-VIW includes four data sections: case identification, physical characteristics and capacities, vocational test results, and industrial bench assembly task results. Forty-two vocational reports from the Lighthouse of Houston axe analysed to develop the basic database structure for EIAS-VIW. 22.4.48 (120815) Andersson, R., Kemmlert, K., and Kilbom, A.
