✦ Synopsis

The crystal structures of two new reduced cesium tungsten oxides are reported. Along with the previously reported compound (\mathrm{Cs}{6} \mathrm{~W}{11} \mathrm{O}{36}), they represent several members of a homologous series of layer compounds between the hexagonal tungsten bronze and pyrochlore structure types. The series formula is [A] (\mathrm{Cs}{2 n} \mathrm{~W}{4 n-1} \mathrm{O}{12 n}), where (n-1) is the number of pyrochlore layers. 1993 Academic Press. Inc.
