✦ Synopsis

Cs2PdSe8(1), a novel palladium polyselenide with a threedimensional open framework structure, has been synthesized via a solvothermal reaction using ethylenediamine as solvent. Its crystal structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure belongs to the tetragonal space group I41/acd (No. 142), a‫,)2(539.41؍‬ c‫)3(709.21؍‬ A s , V‫)8(0.7982؍‬ A s 3 , Z‫,8؍‬ R1‫,440.0؍‬ and wR2‫,360.0؍‬ for 640 unique reflections.
