Abstract

X‐ray analysis of a crystalline product obtained by electrochemical oxidation of the Ni(II)‐seco‐corrinoid 1 has established the structure as that of a 1,19 oxygen‐bridged porphyrinoid 2. The crystals (perchlorate salt of 2) are triclinic, space group P1, with a = 10.205, b = 11.616, c = 14.52Å, α = 115.30, β = 107.34, γ = 85.90°, Z = 2. The structure was solved by the heavy‐atom method and refined by full‐matrix least‐squares analysis to a final R factor of 9.4%. Some features of the molecular structure are discussed.
