The mononuclear structure of Zn(S 2 CN(CH 2 ) 4 ) 2 (4,7-Ph 2 -1,10-phenanthroline) shows the zinc atom in each of the two independent molecules comprising the asymmetric unit to exist in a distorted octahedral geometry defined by an N 2 S 4 donor set.
The X-ray crystal structure of Sb(S 2 CN(CH 2 ) 4 ) 2 Cl features a five-coordinate geometry for antimony within a ClS 4 donor set, provides evidence for a stereochemical influence exerted by the lone pair of electrons on antimony, and shows no evidence for molecular aggregation.
The molecular structure of [Zn(O 2 CC 6 H 4 NO 2 -p) 2 (pyridine) 2 ] exhibits a distorted N 2 O 2 tetrahedral geometry around the zinc atom owing to the presence of monodentate p-nitrobenzoate ligands; the molecule has twofold symmetry.
