✦ Synopsis
Crystallographic and electrochemical characterization of novel TiV,_,Ni, hydrogen storage alloys, which are body-centered cubic solid solutions of titanium in vanadium, was firstly investigated.
Crystal structure of TiV,_,Ni, (0 d x < 1) alloys changed in two steps depending on the amount of absorbed hydrogen in the same manner as a V metal. In chargdischarge cycling tests, the maximum discharge capacity of the TiV,_,Ni, electrodes was observed to be ca. 350mA h g-r at around x = 0.4-0.6 under the condition of charge and discharge current densities of 50mA hg-' and operating temperature of 30°C.

## Abstract A combination of hydrometallurgical and electrochemical processes has been developed for the separation and recovery of nickel and cobalt from cylindrical nickel–metal hydride rechargeable batteries. Leaching tests revealed that a 4 mol dm^−3^ hydrochloric acid solution at 95 °C was sui
In order to improve overall electrochemical properties of AB 3 -type hydrogen storage alloy electrodes, especially the cycling stability, CuO was added to the electrode. Electrochemical properties of the electrodes with and without additives were studied. Cyclic voltammetry and SEM results show that
