โฆ Synopsis
This excellent book is an up-to-date review of the engineering science of crystallization from solution and melt. It also addresses reactive crystallization. The book provides a comprehensive engineering basis for understanding and performing scale-up.
The book contains an exhaustive presentation of the science, and design equations. Generally the authors do not provide derivations, but instead furnish excellent practical comments on the significance and use of the equations. Derivations can be found in the references, which are notable for being very up-to-date: there are many references to work published in the last 10 years, in English, German and Japanese publications.
Specific equipment, lab methods, instrumentation, analytical methods are covered--but will require searching in references, trade literature, and other handbooks. Marcel Dekker claims on the back cover: "explains basic design procedures for both laboratory and industrial crystallizers". Examina-
