✦ Synopsis
This paper gives some fundamental data which are necessary for the growing of crystals of potassium acid phtalate. The solubility of that phtalate, the values of critical supersaturation of its solutions in water and in solutions containing 0-16% of glycerine and the values of crystal growth rates of the { 111) and { 001) facee are given. The growth rates R were measured in 10% glycerine solutions of various values of supersaturation (Aa) and of various values of the solution flow rate (u). The saturation temperature was 33-36 "C. The dependence of R(lll) on the supersaturation Aa and the flow rate w was expressed by the equation log R(lll) = a + b: log Aa + b$ log w The values of coefficients a*, b:, b$ were calculated by means of the least squares method. The coefficient bf corresponds to the formal kinetic order, its value wtw 1.79 for 0.3 5 Aa 5 1.26 and 6 5 u 5 22. -The values of growth rates of basal faces (001) may be obtained when using tHe value of ratio q = R(lll)/R(wl). The measurements of growth rates were made in crystallizer of the circulation type and in solutions containing 10% of glycerine to prevent the defect or parasitic growth and the twinning of crystals. Daten fiir die Ziichtung von saurem Kaliumphthalat werden mitgeteilt: Liislichkeit, kritische tfberskttigung der wkBrigen Liisungen und solchen mit 0-16% Glycerin-Gehalt sowie Werte der Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit (WG) fiir { 11 1 } und { 001 }. Die WG wurden in 10yoigen Glycerinlijsungen in ZirkulationsgefiiDen bei verechiedenen ObersLittigungen ( d o ) und FIuBgeschwindigkeit (w) der Liiclung bestimmt. Siittigungstemperatur war 33-36 "C. Die WG wird ausgedriickt mit log R(lll) = a* + bf log Aa +' b t log u. Die Koeffizienten a*, bf, b$ d e n mit Hilfe der Methode der kleinsten Quadrate (least squares) errechnet. bf driickt die kinetische Ordnung aus und betrug 1,79 fiir 0,3 5 Aa 5 1,26 und 6 5 u 5 22. -Die Werte fiir konnten durch die Beziehung q = R(l,)/R(wl) gewonnen werden. -Losungen mit 10% Glycerin vermieden gestiirtes, parasitiires und Zwillingswachstum.
