✦ Synopsis


We have attempted to summarize a large amount of data which characterize the properties of polymers crystallized from the pure melt. For this analysis, linear polyethylene and polyethers have been considered. The influence of chain structure, molecular weight and crystallization conditions on a wide variety of properties has been discussed. Moreover, we present a general analysis of the isothermal crystallization. The understanding of the crystallization mechanism and its dependence on molecular weight and on crystallization temperature can be obtained in part from these studies on polymer fractions.
