The low-temperature form of K 3 Sm(PO 4 ) 2 crystallizes in the glaserite type. The Raman and infrared spectra have been investigated: they are consistent with the proposed space monoclinic system [a = 7.4347(5) A Λ, b = 5.6270(5) A Λ, c = 9.4919(5) A Λ, Ξ² = 90.870(6)Β°, Z = 2, space group P2 1 /m].
The decomposition of Er 2 (SeO 4 ) 3 in the presence of LiF in a sealed gold ampoule at 8701C yielded single crystals of Er 2 (SeO 3 ) 3 .
