## Abstract Single crystals of the title compound are prepared by reaction of an equimolar mixture of Fe~2~O~3~, Ln~2~O~3~ (Ln: La, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd), and Nb~2~O~5~ in a Sr(OH)~2~/KOH melt (Ag tube, 600 Β°C, 1 h).
