✦ Synopsis
Large single crystals of the polar lithium sulfamate, Li[NH 2 SO 3 ], were grown from aqueous solution. The crystal structure was determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction data (space group: Pca2 1 (Nr. 29), a=16.253(2) Å, b=5.0529(3) Å, c=8.2469(7) Å, R=0.019). Precise refractive indices were measured in the wavelength region between 0.36 µm and 1.53 µm. Above λ ≈ 0.85 µm Li[NH 2 SO 3 ] shows optic uniaxial behaviour. A phase-matched optical second harmonic generation is not possible. Measurements of temperature dependence of thermal expansion and of main birefringences ∆n (i) have given no hints for structural phase transitions in the investigated temperature region (from -130 °C to +25 °C).

Single crystals of Na 3 BaCl 5 .2H 2 O were obtained from saturated aqueous solutions at two different temperatures (27° C and 32° C). The crystal size increases with increasing temperature. The crystals obtained were subjected to a systematic morphological, X-ray and thermal analyses. The study of
The crystal structure of Li(C 6 H 7 O 7 ) ´H2 O has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffractometry. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 with Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct and Fourier methods and refined to R1 = 0.031. Some comparisons with related struc-tures are mad
The two hypersilylcuprates LiCu 2 Hyp 3 (2) and [Li 7 (O t Bu) 6 ][Cu 2 Hyp 3 ] (3) (Hyp = Si(SiMe 3 ) 3 ) were synthesized by reactions of unsolvated lithium hypersilanide, Li-Hyp with hypersilylcopper and CuO t Bu, respectively. Both contain the novel A-frame trihypersilyldicuprate anion [Cu 2- Hy
