β¦ Synopsis
A sizable single crystal of Bi 2 ZnOB 2 O 6 has been grown by the Kyropoulos method. The nonlinear optical coefficients have been determined by the method of Maker fringes at lΒΌ1064 nm. It is found that these coefficients relative to d 36 for KH 2 PO 4 (KDP) are d 31 ΒΌ (2.34 7 0.05)d 36 (KDP), d 32 ΒΌ (7.90 7 0.16)d 36 (KDP) and d 33 ΒΌ (2.60 7 0.06)d 36 (KDP). The large nonlinear optical coefficients as well as easy crystal growth make the Bi 2 ZnOB 2 O 6 crystal a promising candidate for NLO materials.
