โฆ Synopsis
New applications and design processes in crystal engineering are described in the nine papers of this volume, which were written by groups of chemists and engineers in the US, Canada, the UK, Japan, France, Switzerland, Italy, and the Netherlands. The chapter titles include: applications to crystal design of hydrogen bonds in inorganic chemistry, molecular recognition and self-assembly between amines and alcohols, very large supramolecular capsules based on hydrogen bonding, crystal transformations and gas-solid reactions, and solid-gas interactions between small gaseous molecules and transition metals in the solid state. Each paper features the authors' own research and includes an exhaustive bibliography. The papers are well illustrated with b&w and some color plates.

The book is a good, undergraduate level introduction to crystallography. It describes the basic concepts, like a Bravais lattice, and the 230 space groups. The key idea to grasp is symmetry. And how this can lead to tiling in two or three dimensions. Giving rise to such structures as a body centred
Highlighting the key aspects and latest advances in the rapidly developing field of molecular catalysis, this book covers new strategies to investigate reaction mechanisms, the enhancement of the catalysts' selectivity and efficiency, as well as the rational design of well-defined molecular catalyst
