## Abstract Physically crosslinked chitosan‐__g__‐poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogels with controllable graft percent were prepared in three steps. Poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) was first grafted onto chitosan via radical copolymerization. Then the copolymer was converted into chitosan‐__g__‐poly(vinyl alco
