✦ Synopsis

The kinetics of short-range order reactions are often investigated by measurements of the residual electrical resistivity. The dependence of that resistivity on the structure parameters in the case of single-phase short-range order can be described by the theory of Rossiter and Wells. Nevertheless it was not possible until now to elucidate the behaviour of the structural parameters during short-range ordering, because the resistivity only reflects the lump influence of these parameters. In this study, in which one alloy is taken as an example, the short-range order reactions are simulated by a Monte Carlo model, and the corresponding resistivity behaviour is calculated. This simulation is done under the conditions for a special annealing experiment, in the literature called Cross-Over experiment and frequently used to analyse the reactions of short-range ordering. It is shown how in the case of single-phase short-range ordering the Cross-Over effects are produced by concurrent partial reactions.
