✦ Synopsis

Isartherm-Flex-KIN is a universal stuffing box packing for highpressure and high-temperature valves that has been developed by Burgmann Dichtungswerke GmbH & Co KG.

The packing, which is certified to API 589, is manufactured from expanded graphite foil reinforced with an Inconel core for greater stability under pressure. It also has a corrosion inhibitor to reduce potential problems with the valve spindle. The packing is said to have high cross-sectional density and high structural strength together with good elasticity, which provide for low stress on the shaft.

The operating limits of the packing are up to 500 bar pressure, 2 m/s sliding speed and a temperature range of -50 to 500°C and 550°C in steam. It is stable with chemicals in the range pH 0-14. The wide potential application range is aimed to make the packing suitable as standard across different areas of user operations.
