โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

The field response characteristics of 12 commercially available continuouswave (CW) Doppler ultrasound probes have been measured by a vibrating target method. These characteristics are discussed in relation to their application for quantitative evaluation of the carotid arteries. Because of poorly behaved field characteristics, short depths of penetration, and insufficient beam width, some of the probes may not be suitable for such evaluations.
