✦ Synopsis
The results of critical current measurements at temperatures between 4-20 K in magnetic fields up to 1 2 T of Nb3Ge superconductor prepared by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and alloyed with AI are presented. The analysis of the results shows that the expression for a pinning force having the form f= b°-8(1 -b) 2-2 gives the best fit to the experimental data at all temperatures. It is pointed out that the pinning force curve deviates from the theoretical one mainly in the region where the pinning force is at maximum. Then, the value of B~2 at 4.2 K is extrapolated with respect to the shape of the pinning force curve. Finally, the microstructure of the layer is discussed in connection with the pinning behaviour.
