✦ Synopsis

The inelastic time-dependent deformations of concrete, especially creep and shrinkage, represent an extremely complicated phenomenon which is affected in an intricate way by a great number of factors characterizing concrete composition, loading, environment of the structure and its history. Thus it is no surprise that there is a vast and rapidly growing literature on the subject. It is therefore timely and highly laudable that Prof. Neville, in collaboration with Prof. Dilger, has. undertaken the formidable task of summarizing the present knowledge in a single volume.
