Abstract

A novel ultraโ€wideband design of a singleโ€layer coplanar waveguide (CPW)โ€fed triangular planar monopole antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna, which includes two notched ground planes only 24 mm in width and 31 mm in height, experimentally reaches a measured โˆ’10โ€dB impedance bandwidth of 9.8 GHz (from 3.05 to 12.85 GHz), covering the WPAN standard. Good monopolelike radiation patterns and antenna gains are also obtained. ยฉ 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
