Abstract
A novel ultraโwideband design of a singleโlayer coplanar waveguide (CPW)โfed triangular planar monopole antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna, which includes two notched ground planes only 24 mm in width and 31 mm in height, experimentally reaches a measured โ10โdB impedance bandwidth of 9.8 GHz (from 3.05 to 12.85 GHz), covering the WPAN standard. Good monopolelike radiation patterns and antenna gains are also obtained. ยฉ 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
