✦ Synopsis
Platinum soft wires can be created by linking amphiphilic alkyne platforms to planar Pt^II^ terpyridine units. The cover picture shows fibers formed from the stacking of such complexes through Pt⋅⋅⋅Pt and π–π interactions that give rise to deep‐green gels and liquid‐crystalline materials with near‐IR phosphorescence. In their Communication on page 2659 ff., R. Ziessel and co‐workers describe how the fibers are organized on highly ordered pyrolytic graphite substrates (observed by AFM; background).
