Abstract

The cover picture shows the localisation of the mannose receptor (MR) and collagen IV in a transverse section of the mouse dermis. Cells expressing the MR (red) are located alongside collagen IV fibres (green). This picture is taken from the article by Martinez‐Pomares et al. (pp 1074–1082) in which the authors demonstrate that the murine MR can recognize collagen independently of carbohydrates and that the MR is also responsible for collagen internalisation by macrophages in vitro.
