The cover picture shows a core±shell nanoparticle, generated from a metal sulfide semiconductor and molecular chromophore. Energy transfer within these systems is revealed by the identification of luminescent sites, at which electrons and holes recombine or exchange spin states. Optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) can both characterize these luminescence sites and elucidate mechanisms associated with the charge carriers.
