✦ Synopsis

Capacitance and inductance equivalent circuit parameters for various microstrip discontinuities were reported more than 20 years ago, but those for capacitatively coupled orthogonal microstrip branch lines were not included. These structures are used for ring resonators and in a class of band-stop filter. The method of moments has been used to find these parameters. A simple basis function for the subareas along the edges of the conductors allows for the charge singularity, giving fair accuracy for a reasonable number of subareas. The series coupling capacitance is 20-40% larger than end-coupled lines with an equal gap, even for small gaps.

This article presents an efficient method for analyzing nonuniformly coupled microstrip lines. By choosing a modal-transformation matrix, the coupled nonlinear differential equations describing the symmetric nonuniformly coupled microstrip lines are decoupled using even-and odd-mode parameters; the

## Abstract A suspended stripline coupled‐line structure has been proposed, which allows for achieving equalization of inductive and capacitive coupling coefficients in a wide range of directional couplers' coupling __C__. Three different variants of the proposed structure have been considered, and
