✦ Synopsis

We represent a new numerical method to solve the stationary Navier-Stokes equations in an unbounded domain. This technique consists in coupling the boundary integral and finite element methods. Moreover, we derive the variational formulation and well-posedness of the coupling method and provide the convergence result for the approximate solution.

The foundations of a new discontinuous Galerkin method for simulating compressible viscous flows with shocks on standard unstructured grids are presented in this paper. The new method is based on a discontinuous Galerkin formulation both for the advective and the diffusive contributions. High-order
