β¦ Synopsis
The different phases of QCD at finite temperature and density lead to interesting effects in cosmology and astrophysics.
In this work I review some aspects of the cosmological QCD transition and of astrophysics at high baryon density.

We simulate two-flavour lattice QCD with at a finite chemical potential ~1 for isospin, and finite temperature. At small ,u~, we determine the position of the crossover from hadronic matter to a quark-gluon plasma as a function of ~1. At larger ~1 we observe the phase transition from the superfluid
We apply strong-coupling perturbation theory to the QCD lattice Hamiltonian. We begin with naive, nearestneighbor fermions and subsequently break the doubling symmetry with next-nearest-neighbor terms. The effective Hamiltonian is that of an antiferromagnet with an added kinetic term for baryonic "i
