The general objective of this Program is to develop a sense of perspective regarding the nature of the environmental degradation of a variety of metals and alloys and, specifically, to provide a basis for understanding the origin, prevention and/or control of various corrosion related phenomena which occur in aqueous electrolytes or in high temperature gaseous environments. The instructors for this course are Professors R. M. Latanision and G. J. Yurek of the M.I.T. Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
