## Abstract The electrochemical behaviour of two steels typically used in power boilers has been studied in the temperature range from 540°C to 680°C. Two environments were used: a) a synthetic salt mixture of 80% V~2~O~5~ − 20% Na~2~SO~4~ and b) oil ash collected from a high temperature reheater.

## Abstract Hot‐dipped galvanized zinc and zinc alloy coatings were used as protective metallic coatings for steel structures in seawater in China. Corrosion of the two coatings immersed in sea water in Qingdao and Xiamen for 6 years were introduced and analyzed, which provides a basis for further
An eight-week test programme was carried out on a test burner with 2.5 MW thermal output in the IFRF test furnace in Ijmuiden, The Netherlands. The burner test was accompanied by numerical calculations and cold flow experiments. This led to the application of the burner in a utility boiler with a th
## Abstract Plasma‐sprayed 8YSZ (zirconia stabilized with 8 wt% yttria)/NiCoCrAlYTa thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) were laser‐glazed using a continuous‐wave CO~2~ laser. Open pores within the coating surface were eliminated and an external densified layer was generated by laser‐glazing. The hot co
## Abstract The pitting corrosion resistance of AISI 444, 304L and 316L stainless steels in two tap waters with different chloride concentrations at 80 °C was studied. Cyclic potentiodynamic polarization (CPP) tests were carried out starting from __E__~corr~ − 30 mV until the current density reache
