The initiation and inhibition of pitting corrosion on zirconium and hafnium in aqueous solutions have been investigated by potentiodynamic, potentiostatic and galvanostatic measurements at 25Β°C. Effects of Cl-, Br-and I have been examined over a range of salt concentrations and pH. All three halide
