## Abstract The inhibiting behavior of 6βaminohexanoic acid (C~6~H~13~NO~2~) on mild steel corrosion in 1 M HCl as corroding solution at 25βΒ°C was evaluated by weight loss, polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The weight loss, polarization, and EIS measurements we

Abstract
Cathodic polarization curves for mild steel in 1.0 N H~2~SO~4~ and 1.0N HCl, containing various concentrations of thiourea (TU) (1β25 mM) and thiosemicarbazide (TSC) (0.2β25 mM), were measured in the temperature range 20β50 Β°C. The apparent activation energy for corrosion (ΞE*) was calculated from I~cor~ vs 1/T and R~p~/T vs 1/T relations. ΞE* is virtually constant by changing TU concentrations (55β57 KJ/mole in H~2~SO~4~). An interpretation for the loss of inhibition efficiency of TU in acid solution is given. This is based on the decomposition of TU to ammonium thiocyanate.

The inhibition performance of PWVA inhibitor on carbon steel was studied in 55% LiBr ΓΎ 0.07 mol/L LiOH solution. Results indicated that PWVA inhibitor decreased both anodic and cathodic polarization current density and widened the passive potential region of carbon steel in the test solution. It cou
