✦ Synopsis
A treatment of corrosion control of steel made feeders carrying potable water from desalination of sea water is presented under an example of application at the Yanbu and Medina (Saoudi Arabia) water treatment plant . A 32 inches steel made feeder with an internal epoxy lining, shows, after 3 months operation, in few places in pumping stations a peeling of the lining . Bare metal van showing, an outset of corrosion . Sone modifications of treatment of potabilisation have permit to reduce corrosion speed by deposit of a protective layer of calcium carbonate on the surface of the metal . Details on the treatment and calculation method of calcium carbonate equilibrium are given .
