## Abstract The corrosion of Al in NaOH solutions has been investigated using polarization method as well as weight loss method. The effect of various organic and inorganic compounds on the rate of corrosion was studied. The results indicated that the rate of Al corrosion is maximum at [NaOH] โผ4M.
Anodic charging curves have been measured by the galvanostatic technique on Bi in O-05 M solutions of NalSOc, NalCOI and NaOH at 30ยฐC. Oxide iilms can be grown to 100 V and more. The nature of the fihn depends on the pH and the type of anion present. Formation rates are highest in sulphate solutions
