✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Corrosion and mass transport of ferritic and austenitic steels exposed in 100 h corrosion tests to liquid sodium with elevated hydrogen contents at 600°C are described. Results of weight losses, carbon and nitrogen analysis and mechanical properties after exposure to sodium are given. A partial explanation is given for observed corrosion and mass transport in relation to the effect of elevated hydrogen contents in sodium.
