Abstract

The creep behaviour of the 32Ni‐20Cr steel Alloy 800H was studied in various S‐O‐C bearing gas mixtures simulating coal gasification atmospheres at 700°C. The investigations have shown that the corrosive attack can cause a degradation in creep strength and in creep ductility. The deleterious effects which are due to sulphidation and oxidation may be compensated by a beneficial contribution from carbide formation.

## Abstract The corrosion behaviour of the austenitic 32Ni‐20Cr steel Alloy 800H was investigated in several S‐O‐C bearing gas mixtures simulating coal gasification environments at 700°C for up to 5000 h. It is shown that relatively small changes in oxygen and sulphur activities can cause a signifi
