We show that the rate of through-bond-mediated intramolecular singlet-singlet electronic energy transfer (EET) in the rigid novel 10-bond DMN-bridge-dione 2(10) is five orders of magnitude faster than that predicted for 1(10) DMN monoketone and observed in the steroid systems exhibiting comparable i

✦ Synopsis
Due to oversight and negligence on behalf of the authors no proper acknowledgement was given to the important collaboration they had with professor Michael Paddon-Row and Mr. Nigel Lokan from the University of NSW, Sydney Australia and to Professor Ken Ghiggino and Dr. Trevor Smith from the University of Melbourne, Australia. They take this opportunity to publicly apologize to their esteemed Australian colleagues and assure them that no intention was made to ignore their significant contribution. Although their contribution was fully acknowledged in their talk at the conference and is cited in the proceedings as Refs. 21-23, a full acknowledgement should have been given, this is now being corrected.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The synthesis of the novel compounds shown in Scheme 1 was done by Prof. M. Paddon-Row and Mr. Nigel Lokan, Refs. 21, 22, all ultrafast data on these compounds cited in the paper and shown in Table 1 were performed by Prof. Ken Ghiggino and Dr. Trevor Smith, Refs. 21, 23 and the CIS calculations were done by Prof. Paddon-Row, Refs. 2 1, all as part of a collaborative research with the authors, which was published earlier as Refs. 21.
